David Szetela

Owner and CEO

David SzetelaDavid founded Clix Marketing in 2003, following a 25-year career in technology sales and marketing as an executive at Apple Computer and Ziff-Davis Publishing. He is active in the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) and was the author of two lessons in SEMPO's Advanced Search Advertising course. His writing has been published in his weekly column as a Search Engine Watch Expert, Profitable PPC , in the SEW Blog, in online publications like Search Engine Land and in the Clix Marketing Blog. His weekly Webmasterradio.fm show, PPC Rockstars, is broadcast every Monday at 4 PM Eastern time. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences like PPC Summit, Marketing Sherpa B2B Summit, SMX and Search Engine Strategies (see list of upcoming speaking engagements here). His book on PPC Content Advertising, Customers Now, was published in November 2009, and his Wiley/Sybex book, PPC Advertising on One Hour a Day, will be published in May 2010.

James Thompson

James ThompsonJames is a technology-savvy senior executive with sixteen years of experience merging technology and marketing to bring innovative products to market and reach new customer segments. Before Clix James was VP of Technology for New Equity Financial, where he spearheaded the company's PPC campaigns. James’ internet experience started in early 1994 as the first Editor-in-Chief of the Ziff-Davis publication “Inside The Internet.” He also launched the ZD Journal’s original web site, email tip service and other interactive digital products. He launched broadband cable services for Intermedia@Home, served as CEO of the application development firm Internet Tool and Die, and consulted with large corporations as an eStrategist for Whittman-Hart. James keeps Clix on the technological forefront with his strategic leadership and internet knowhow. James has a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.

Mae Flint

Director of Operations

Mae FlintFlint has been with Clix since October 2008 and manages a growing diverse set of client campaigns for target market definition and creative development. Prior to joining Clix Marketing in 2008, Flint had managed both PPC and targeted content adverting campaigns for ecommerce companies. Previously, she was assistant facility manager at the arena and the performing arts center of her alma mater of Murray State University and was executive director at the Murray Tourism Commission in Murray, KY, where she was responsible for all public relations plans including media relations, social marketing, digital marketing, advertising, retail marketing, graphic design.

Joseph Kerschbaum

Director of Client Services

Joseph has been working in the SEM industry since 2006. Since then he has been sharpening his expertise in PPC advertising, search engine optimization, conversion optimization, and social media marketing. Joseph’s writing on the SEM industry has appeared widely on PPC Hero, SEO Boy, Website Magazine and other industry blogs and journals. Previously, Joseph was a Senior Search Marketing Consultant for Hanapin Marketing. Before working with Hanapin, Joseph was the Promotional Services Manager with AuthorHouse. John Lee

john leeJohn is an internet marketing jack-of-all-trades with experience managing PPC, SEO and social media campaigns, but is perfecting his pay-per-click and analytics skills for Clix Marketing clients.  John is also an avid blogger, and writes both personally and professionally. In addition to his duties with Clix, John is also the Paid Search Manager for WordStream Inc.. Before Clix, John was a search marketing consultant for Hanapin Marketing and was instrumental in the success of Hanapin’s two search marketing blogs: PPCHero.com and SEOBoy.com. John has also worked in the publishing industry and in retail management.
