Last week I had the pleasure of speaking at SMX East in New York City alongside a number of amazing folks from around our online marketing community. My discussion focused on the Google Display Network and how to maximize your performance.
Based on my years of experience with the GDN and reviewing many accounts from people managing campaigns on their own, I feel the biggest pain points are seen when folks simply don’t fully understand the targeting options, how they work, and some basics when it comes to campaign structure. I worked to address each of these in my talk by giving an outline of all targeting options available on the GDN, some tips I’ve learned over the years to improve performance, and a short set of examples on how to structure campaigns. Lastly, I discuss the newest addition to the GDN family, Smart Campaigns: how they work, how to set them up, our experience, and some tips for success.
