Google AdWords Editor is a great tool – we rarely work on campaigns using the web-based interface now.
But be aware of an important bug – when you create campaigns and choose to direct them to the Search network only by un-checking the Content box – the campaign is created with Content turned on.
So it’s necessary for you to go into the web interface and turn it off.
At a recent “Meet the Search Engines” session at SES San Jose, several members in the audience complained that their campaigns were mysteriously “returning” to the Content network. I betcha they were victims of this bug. (The Google rep on the panel responded with “that shouldn’t be happening.”)
