I spotted another addition to the AdWords tool arsenal today – a capability that seems to be in beta – that recommends customized ad text.
Creating compelling ads is one of the most difficult tasks faced by new AdWords advertisers. Google’s new tool walks the advertiser through a set of very targeted questions, and then suggests several ad variations that can be instantly added to a campaign.
We judged the ad text suggestions to be on average very good, but were surprised that several seemed to be weak – lacking calls to action, for example.
Still the tool will surely be of significant value to new advertisers, and should spark new ideas for even the most grizzled vets.
